Second Sino-Japanese War. Part I, Pre-Release

China and Japan have gone to war. I wonder, who will win?

Second Sino-Japanese War. Part I, Pre-Release

Thank you! It is so rewarding to hear that this video has spoken to someone! I had gone through several books on the war until I got my hands on "The Battle for China: Essays on the Military History of the Sino-Japanese War of 1937-1945". It helped to get most sense of the events, although even with that some statements made in the video are still more of a speculation.

Indeed. It took a long time to find them.

Terrific video. Of course the maps are brilliant, but this is the first narrative that explains the various sides' intentions in such a clear manner. Even Barbara Tuchman has the Chinese forces doing a bit of this and that for very short term reasons. So Japan repeatedly applied the 'escalation until failure' model. Well done. Also my grandmother in Detroit in the 1960s used to talk very favorably about the Chinese (not the Communists - just 'the Chinese.') I think many Americans were deeply affected by the Nanjing Massacre, establishing a deep regard and support for China. (Over course overlaid is the anti-Red Chinese feelings which are also very real) As a kid we got a lot of cheap toys that said, "Made in Hong Kong" These of course were from the Peoples' Republic, transshipped through Hong Kong where a major industry was adding the "Made in Hong Kong" labels.

Awesome! There are woefully few good resources on the Sino-Japanese war.
