From Paris to the Battle of the Bulge

Some more progress this week.

I would like to make this video as good as possible, so if you have any ideas on how this format could be improved (different visuals, extra features, etc), let me know!

From Paris to the Battle of the Bulge

It might have some role, though probably not a crucial one. I think tactical decisions (such as not waiting for the infantry) were much more important. Military History Visualized made a video about it, which makes good points: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vo7MOzC3-SI

I didn't think of that myself. I won't use this in this video, but for future videos it is a good approach!

Some people claim the Germans were able to cover a lot more ground compared to Allied units before of amfetamines and other drugs. I assume they talk about the 12-19 may offensive. Do you think this played a crucial role or was it purely not waiting for their infantry to catch up.

I suggest that when you zoom in, during the video, the army balls get split into smaller bals

As for operation Dragoon - the first video will depict the action in real time and will not have Dragoon due to format limitations. The second one will be with commentary and will cover it.

I will do two videos, first will feature the action in real time without any comments (just as the French campaign). Adding names of battles/operations in it is a good idea and would be a big improvement. Thanks!

Or for something easier and less all-encompassing, popups with information like that would be nice to have for specific major battles like BotB or Market Garden. Overall the map is great for visualizing the war from an operational perspective and your voice-over gives things the strategic context they need, but imo more specifics on what's happening on the ground are always welcome

This might be very difficult to keep track of, but what if you added a force and/or casualty counter for each side? It would be a good way to visualize what side has the advantage or get an idea of how big a given battle was without the POW popup that you add for an encirclement, and it could also give an idea of how efficient each side is in their fighting

Adam H

I think that if a unit movement will be followed by a trail or wake (to make it more like an arrow), it would be easier to follow them on the map
