My feelings about AI art are complicated, but in short I think it could be a powerful tool. I think its kinda dumb to leave a state of the art tool untouched out of a sense of privilege. Anyway, consider this a bonus on Patreon. It probably took about as much time as a typical piece, and is definitely a little different style than I would attempt myself. I have a couple more experiments in mind.

What are your thoughts on AI art?

I think that even ignoring the moral stuff, ai art is fundamentally less good to look at than hand made I think i would prefer your hand made art over ai even of your own style

Oh for sure about the low effort part and the weird similarities. After playing with it for a few hours I've found out exactly how much effort goes into this kind of output, and that samey-ness is more and more obvious

I am a pretty big detractor of AI art generally, TBH. It's basically impossible to guardrail it to keep artist's content out of datasets without their permission or compensation, it floods channels that previously had good content with middle-to-low effort garbage drowning out what you want to see, and it still mostly results in muddy-detailed, fuzzy-edged final products that all have the same oily sheen. I don't know if it's just me but most AI art triggers a negative response from the lizard sector of my brain even just at a glance; even before clicking the tiny thumbnail on my notifications list for this picture I could tell it was AI-generated. That's not to say don't experiment or have fun with it, and I'm sure some artists will find creative applications for it that still result in quality content, but it's definitely not what I'm here to see.
