I love the details in this movie. The Director was Rian Johnson, who also did Star Wars: The Last Jedi (he did a much better job here). IIRC the whole family didn't know about Marta's mother, only Harlan did. I think when I watched it the first time I thought Harlan had arranged his own death (like he'd swapped the bottles himself), mostly because he was so confident and knew the plan so well. I didn't really have a motive for that, except a vague idea that he'd then hired Benoit in order to reveal his families misdeeds. That damn Captain America sincerity won me over :D
