It's possible he actually intended to straight-up shoot Borden. It's possible Angier didn't actually mean to pull the trigger either. It's hard to tell because Angier closes his eyes, then "Fallon" knocks the gun, which likely causes it to go off and definitely causes the bullet to hit Borden's hand instead of his chest.

2021-08-31 02:26:37 +0000 UTCLoved the reaction. I just want to say that Borden (whichever one it was) didn't mean to kill the wife. He doesn't know which knot he tied, but even if he did, Borden and Angier's wife nodded at each other before he retired the knot --- so she gave her consent. Honestly, I'd say that Angier was the worse one of the two. We can't forget that he shot Borden's fingers off, so he should also go to jail. Not only that, but Angier shot Borden's fingers off knowing that it would cripple Borden's career, even though Borden had a wife and baby to support. Just my opinion.
