The movie's plot is fun, but in my personal opinion, they did not think about the time travel theory too much. Did you notice anything weird during this movie regarding it? π€

The filmmakers have since explained that things were now different, but in the small area they were at it wasn't very noticeable. After Marty & Doc rescued Jennifer and were on their way back to the car things actually HAD changed around them at that point. Even a different family was now living in Marty & Jennifer's house. As old Biff was walking away, it may have looked like he was having a heart attack or something. He was actually disappearing from existence. A deleted part at the end of the scene was old Biff fading out of existence until he was gone. The writers said that sometime during the 1990s Lorraine got angry at Biff and shot him to death. The DeLorean in the air was struck by lightning and was actually spun on its axis until it reached 88 mph and time travelled, it doesn't need to travel in a straight line. If you look after it leaves, the fire trails are in a spiral.
