Are you watching closely? It's definitely a brilliant film, I've said for years that film is so close to sleight of hand/magic - and this movie blends both of them so well. Picpicols probably summed it up well (and it's 3 months later haha), but my thoughts: The twin was the one who tied the knot for sure - but he didn't do it to kill Angier's wife - she agreed to him tying that knot. It was legitimately an accident because they were both overconfident. You're right that the twin never took responsibility for it though. You're 100% right the movie is about obsession. Tesla even warns Angier (and us in the audience) that nothing good comes from obsession. You're also right that no one is good in this movie. The twins were obsessed with magic, and it ruined everything else in their lives. Angier was obsessed with beating "Borden", and it cost the lives of one of the twins, and many many of his clones, and ultimately his own life. Olivia isn't blameless for sure, but she recognized that Angier didn't really care about her, or anything other than beating Borden. She's always going to earn our disrespect because she's the "other woman", particularly when there's a child involved - but really it's mostly the Borden twins' fault again. I'd say the magician at the beginning just left the matter of the knots up to his employees - he didn't care which knot they tied, he trusted them to sort it out themselves. Negligent on his behalf maybe. Borden wrote "tesla" as his method because he wanted Angier to head off to America and waste time and money trying to work out his method. He knew Tesla was a great scientist - and he did use some of his machine (but just the tesla coils to spice up his act). I'm guessing you know this already as well, but Tesla was played by the late David Bowie. Nolan wasn't looking for a great actor to play the small but important role, but he wanted someone "electrifying". Thanks to you (and Picpicols) for this reaction - and it's definitely a movie that requires a rewatch (to be honest, I'd be curious to see a "reaction" to the rewatch too :D) There is another movie that came out a couple of years ago that shows Tesla vs Edison called "The Current War". It's a little less one-sided than this one (while still showing that Edison was also a victim of obsession) - Edison is played by our friend Dr Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch).

No worries, thank you so much for writing in both places. I hope you can still read this by now ๐Ÿค— And thank you so much for the opportunities given. I cherish them ๐Ÿ’–

Left my thoughts on the youtube since I won't have access to this next month, but in short I absolutely loved it! a big sincere thank you I know it's not easy to keep up with everything, specially not these days. Big Hug! hopefully I'll be back on this tier some other month, but for now other people deserve the spot
