I love how in this reaction you started off all full of nervous silly energy... but by the end, you had been fully dragged into its creepy world. Fully agree that despite the disturbing content, it still is a very compelling and almost unique movie. The Director took the unusal (to this day) step of filming a lot of the interaction between Clarice and Lecter from their point of view - so the actor is looking straight into the camera, and therefore straight into our eyes. Unsettling, to say the least. Some minor notes: Hannibal calls Clarice a "rube" - it means he thinks she's a backwood country person, a hick, someone uneducated, unsophisticated. The english word for a car that carries dead people is a "hearse" No-one in the world has to apologise for being silent during Sir Antony Hopkins' scenes! He is incredible, there would be something wrong with you if you could tear your eyes away :P I've seen a few reactions to this movie, and I notice girls don't seem to get what Buffalo Bill is doing when he's dancing for the camera. He's tucking his genitals between his legs so that he can imagine himself as a girl. Just one of the many amazing things we can do with our 'equipment' haha! The lights come back up at the end because Clarice accidentally shoots out one of the blackened basement windows, letting the sunlight in.

Wow she is brave! Although as she says there is probably not one kind if film she will dislike ๐Ÿ˜‚ unless its one of those like Human Centipede (dont even google that shit)

I did offer to change my pick to something 'lighter', but Duaffy was like, 'No way! It's just what I love'. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Well that was interesting, Anthony Hopkins won an oscar for his performance as Hannibal Lecter with only under 25 minutes of screentime, and he won this year again for a movie called "The Father" very different though. If you want a similar classic like this one then add "Se7en" to your list from David Fincher (1995) Covet basically means "Desire" but like desire to possess something someone else has. I hope this movie didn't make you distrust Yenbaiteng tho ๐Ÿคฃ but yeah this movie can make you paranoid with trust, its pretty powerful!
