Hello everyone, I'm here with a health update. My surgery went well on Wednesday with no notable complications. Went in, went under, and stayed for about a day for observation, and I've been back home for the past few days. However, I completely underestimated the recovery post-surgery. I was informed that it would be about a week to a week and a half before I was back to normal, and I made the assumption that it wouldn't interfere with my ability to write.

I was wrong. The painkillers that they gave me make it hard to focus, and my writing has gotten sloppy when I'm on them, if I manage to write at all. Likewise, when I'm not on them... well, pain doesn't really get the creative juices flowing.

So, my return will be delayed for a few more days. Sorry about that. And sorry for delivering the news on Monday -- I thought that it was still Saturday, and I was going to wait over the weekend to see how I was feeling before making the call.

But, to make up for it, I will post a placeholder story I wrote to distract myself from pre-surgery jitters starting tomorrow, so you at least get something from me.

Again, sorry about the extended break -- I just flat out underestimated how the painkillers would take me out of it.
