The thing with Riley was just to show his will was stronger then the chip. He couldn't break free completely but you could see he was fighting it. There's always a flaw

Honestly I loved every moment with Adam. He scared the crap out of me as a kid. I think it was him killing and cutting open the little boy that did it. Season 4 is definitely one of my top 3 seasons, just behind 5 and 6, and just ahead of 3 and 2.

I'm glad Liam enjoyed this. I watched it with a mixture of disappointment and relief. Relief because we were finally done with boring Adam and The Initiative, and I would never again have to see that ludicrous mylar-covered "SCIENCE!" set. I was happy that Forrest died, and I loved the talk between Willow and Buffy and the combo-Buffy spell they did. It was a nice thematic way to bring everyone together, literally, after a season of drifting apart. The disappointment came from everything zombie and Initiative-related, and the weird Matrix-y fight which felt odd at the time for Buffy (everyone at the time pointed out the Matrix stuff, but The Matrix has so heavily influenced pop culture that it doesn't seem odd anymore). But I was super excited for what the finale would be. Joss writes and directs the finales, and I couldn't imagine what he had in store for us.

A bit of trivia.....they used all 4 of the actor's voices for the voice of "Super-Buffy". If you listen closely, you can specifically hear Xander's voice.

Yeah, it's not the most academically studied piece of pop-culture for nothing, which is a big part of why it just refuses to get boring no matter how many times you see it. There's always something different about it...

Even the writers hated Forest. It wasn’t enough to kill him the first time. They felt the need to bring him back and kill him again.

The different aspects of the uber-Buffy that each Scoobie represents actually runs much deeper than you might realise when watching for the first time. There are layers to Whedon's writing that, when revealed, elevate the entire show to a whole new level. When the time is right, I will send you a book that I have no doubt will enhance your appreciation of the series even more!

What I like about Xander being the heart is that it's not always a good thing. Xander's impulsiveness and jealousy and his tendency to put his desires before logic or practicality in seasons 1-3 I think are also attributes of the heart.

I think Forrest (and his makeup) is the weakest part of the episode. It's a shame that there isn't any difference between the demon-hybrid version in this episode and the human character. I find the writer's choices for Forrest through the entire season to be very curious. This episode reinforces Buffy's decision in “Graduation Day” that fighting evil should be a group effort.
