It also gives a more angular appearance to her face which is a lot better for the haughty elegance she showed in her comics. The rounded ears made it more of a petulant look, than a I am better than you and in control.

Some physical sense of reality all together. The only time I saw it done on a furry, well, was a punk-ish looking character that had a patch of her body fur shaved completely and messily, with a garish tattoo on the bare skin.
