Prelude:
Continuing with these lil' updates showin' ya what we're up to. Lots to read here :D
New Monthly Packs:
This month the 1st pack will be:
Modern_Interiors_05_Hospital! Working on that ripper doc pack, the cyberpunk element distracted from a lot of the more basic stuff we wanted to include but somehow didn't get to.
This months 2nd pack will be:
Whatever random thing we pick from the suggestion you folks provided on Discord in the #help-peapu-decide channel or in the comments of this linked patreon post. So many cool ideas, I wish we could do all of them.
3rd Pack? PeaPu_Basics
Last month I mentioned trying to do a PeaPu_Basics pack, with shadows, overlays, lights, etc... Part of it is relatively easy and is already ready to go, however I never managed to fix the problem I encountered with getting a seamless transition between soft-circles and paths. I keep getting misalignments with my current techniques in CSP. I'm either missing some super obvious simple way to do it, or as I suspect I may have to use a different program all together. I could just release it without that, in a 'early access' type of thing. But I dunno.
Pack Updates:
1. Cyberpunk Tokens:
Naturally, there are 3 more cyberpunk packs that need to be updated for the rescaling issues. I've been playing around with the idea of better theming each one, as in taking tokens from each of the packs and reorganizing them so that each one is responsible for more of a cohesive theme (e.g. thugs, augmented, civilians, etc..) I don't know if I'll do it, but if I do, I may have to reexport all 3 packs before I update them. So this one is on a bit of a hold.
2. Post-Apocalypse_Tokens_1:
I plan to reexport these tokens this month to better match the new realistic scale.
3. Industrial Assets (Modern_Interiors_01_Industrial):
This old boy has been sitting un-updated for far too long. I plan to finally give it the love it deserves.
Extras + News:
1. Patreon Tier Rewards changes
'mini-pack' is such an odd ambiguous term. We've decided to retire it (you may have noticed it not appear if a lot of the published packs). The original idea was that Tier 1 supporters get the basic full packs, Tier 2 supporters get the extra mini-packs.
But this system kinda sucks since now there is almost no difference between mini-packs and full packs.
So the proposed change I have and will be working on is a slight restructure of the reward system for Patreon. The proposed changes are as follows:
Tiers 1: (1$, 2$, 3$) (Extra value + lose a little value)
+ Access to all Battlemap Assets
- Lose access to City Assets
Tier 2: ( ̶2̶$̶,̶3̶$̶, 5$) (no functional change for existing patrons)
+ Access to everything (city, battle, tokens/vehicles)
I believe this should add value to Tier 1 and make it less of a 'try before you buy tier' and more of a 'I just want to make battlemaps Tier'. Hopefully, this makes everyone happy. Losing access to City stuff is sad, but they really are experimental assets currently (two different styles, and I wanna introduce a third...)
2. Tier 2's [Upcoming] Access to Secret M Stuff (spoilers ahead)
I really wanted to get this one out a long time ago, but the delays with getting the tokens just right made it tougher to do so since I at least want to have all the tokens ready and prepped for it to just work.
I'm talking about the Moulinette Module for Foundry VTT. Basically, a cool asset browser that makes it a lot easier to just drag-drop assets and tokens onto a scene.
Revealing this now, so folks don't think I just added something random to the rewards list for the lolz. As soon as all the tokens are ready, I'll make sure our content integration starts there, unless something drastic changes by then. ;)
3. Patreon tags
I know currently our tags on Patreon are a bit of a mess, I'll try and make them more comprehensive with the Tier rewards change.
Conclusion:
This post seems even bigger than the previous update, so if you've read through it all you prolly deserve a cake for all those brain calories consumed. I hope I didn't forget anything...
I'll be sending message to everyone regarding the upcoming tier rewards change, so don't mind if you get this information twice. Just want to make sure folks are informed.
