The Crow (1994) | Full Length Reaction & Watch-along! 🐦‍⬛

I loooveeeed this movie so much 🥰🖤 the grittiness - the melancholic vibe with such a sad story. The acting, ambience, with peak 90s edgy flavor was so good its definitely stuck with me and I personally think, has become easily become a favorite of mine. 🖤

Thank you for continuing the HalloVeen celebrations with me, can't wait to drop the next, VERRRRY LONG AWAITED FILM with you guys next 🥰🥰💖💞👻

I don't see it in the comments yet. Brace yourself, V. Brandon Lee, son of Bruce Lee, died on set of this movie the exact same way his father died on set of a movie he was making, years before. A prop gun misfire. Makes this version extra special. I heard the new Crow wasn't as good. Strangely, none of the other versions of The Crow ever matched up to this one. The Crow takes on new bodies. Its a cool concept of a super hero. A spirit of vengeance that changes hosts once the vengeance is complete. This film was huge among the grunge/goth teens of my circle. They watched it every Oct. 30th, lol. I enjoyed it at the time, just wasn't obsessed, lol. This movie came out before 'emo' became a thing but I have to believe that kids of the 90s grew up watching stuff like this, thus becoming emo, lol. I have literally suggested tons of movies that have a similar vibe, lol. Conan the Barbarian (1982) Queen of the Damned (2002) Dark City (1998) Edward Scissorhands (1990) Demolition Man (1993) Total Recall (1990) Tank Girl (1995) The Frighteners (1996) Death Proof (2007) The Ninth Gate (1999) Last Man Standing (1996) Empire Records (1995) The Man from Earth (2007) Labyrinth (1986) The Dark Crystal (1982) Psycho Beach Party (2000) Judge Dredd (1995) City of Lost Children (1995, French) Hudson Hawk (1991) Lady in the Water (2006) City Slickers (1991) True Romance (1993) Chocolat (2000) Thunderheart (1992) Rising Sun (1993) Brotherhood of the Wolf (2001, French) The Bone Collector (1999) Kiss the Girls (1997) Along Came a Spider (2001) Underworld (2003) Desperado (1995) then Once Upon a Time in Mexico (2003) 13th Warrior (1999) Waking Ned Devine (1998) Camp Nowhere (1994) Brainscan (1994) The General's Daughter (1999) Basic (2003) Inside Man (2006) Face/Off (1997) Little Man Tate (1991) Searching for Bobby Fischer (1993)

Vicky, I checked on Youtube and a reaction.for Elm Street never popped up. How long ago did u see it and how much do u remember?I'd like to watch it with u if u can't remember it or remember very little. i have a fun fact about Ryan gosling for u . Ryan was in a goth band called Dead Man's Bone's . It consisted of him and Zach Shields. They released a Self-titled album in 2009 that features a gothic-folk sound. Ryan sang under the alias "Baby Goose". Their music had themes of death and romance and the sound described as gothic rock or folk. One noteable song from their cd is called "in the room where you sleep", and was featured in the movie The Conjuring. The band never really broke up. Its current status is On Hiatus. The members have focused on their acting careers. You can find it on youtube and u can go to Grimm Life Collective and watch a video about them . They also made music videos for their songs "Name in Stone", "dead Hearts, "Lose your Soul", and Pa Pa Power. Their music is fire.

Have you seen A Nightmare on Elm Street 3? That one's quite fun (2 is not good)

One of my all-time fav films, watched every Oct 30th if possible. James O'Barr's graphic novel this is based on is worth a read too. It's slightly different to this film and was written to help cope with the loss of his girlfriend. It's a shame that there is only one The Crow film (trust me on this lol) but at least it's so, so damn good as you've discovered. Alex Proyas went on to make Dark City after this, which is very different but also similar in style, and Brandon Lee's stunt-double Chad Stahelski went on to direct John Wick. I'd also dare say that films like Blade & The Matrix owe a massive debt to The Crow for paving the way for the comic book adaptions and brooding heroes in leather longcoats of the later 90s & 2000s to succeed. Absolutely love this film; like Withnail & I (which is very, very different but absolutely worth a watch) it never, ever gets old. Just avoid the two sequels and straight-up pretend that the "remake" (which shares very little with this classic) just doesn't exist. Absolute waste of Mr Skarsgard. As a '78 kid, I loved, adored & miss the 90s. I was the right age at the right time and I consider myself very lucky to have been in my late teens for this time. Who the fuck doesn't love this film!? Love that you love this. 🖤🙂

Thank you so much for uploading this! It was a joy to watch this with you. Eric Draven isn't what you typically expect out of an antihero; he's not JUST vengeful; he's not JUST this or that; he has this vulnerable side as well. That's something you don't see very often in main characters. This film is like a love letter from Gen-X to the future; to anyone who takes the time to watch it. Thank you again. I've always loved this film. (And its soundtrack is very good too!)

It looks like you enjoyed this just as much as I did when I was 10/11 years old. 1994 and 95 were my first preteen years of angst and action and adult themed comedy movies(The Mask, Ace Ventura) year. OOuuuppp...MORTAL KOMBAT!... sorry that was so random... I felt emotions for the first time which my curly haired skinny blond kid face couldn't quite express. It's crazy thinking about so many things I started liking then which I still like, like almost EVERYTHING in my youth happened in 1994. If you're interested in more 90's COOL action guns movies with guitar playing vigilanties with long hair 🫤😆I recommend Desperado, which had both Antonio Banderas and Selma Hayek's first big starring roles. Directed by Robert Rodriguez, who also did movies and shows such a Spy Kids, From Dusk Til Dawn, Sin City, The Faculty, and The Book of Boba Fett. Oh, and I love that Sarah apparently is a huge Social Distortion fan with her big Mike Ness jumping with his guitar from the Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell album cover above her bed in that quick scene. Only 3 movies which I've seen have Social D shoutouts = this, Terminator 2, and Orange County, but that one's just a song in the intro. I hope you've gone into a bit more research behind the scenes about the tragic nature of this movie, with Brandon Lee being Bruce Lee's son, how this was going to be his first big movie, and the accident on set which caused increased safety awareness of the dangers of firearms on movie sets with new protocols within the film industry.

Funny enough Brandon Lee's performance her was like the baseline for heath ledgers joker from the Dark Knight

The 1st person scenes were after shots same as when he entered the apartment first time. That why there is rain throughout it, I was the dumpster scenes re-done. The opening part with him getting shot was what killed him. Prop issue that plagued the actor "funboy" forever.
