To clear some things up:
Added 2025-09-08 19:00:46 +0000 UTCFirst of all: Thank you for subscribing to this little project of mine. This post is made as a response to a couple of common questions I had relating to the release.
"Can I edit this for private use?" Yes, files are open and you may do with them as you wish apart from reselling, leaking, trading or using the assets in other mods. If you are a modder who wants to make private edits for this, go right ahead. When I get my discord set up with correct roles, I'll make a channel for mod edits etc.
"Why Patreon and why monthly payment?" Apart from certain legalities behind the scenes, everything released on this patreon will be early access. Of course, I make sure that it's not a buggy mess and still works well, but at the end of the day, it's not a fully finished product. I view this patreon more as financial support for my projects than a strict business, I hope you guys can view it the same. For background information, I'm 18 years old doing my last year of high school, after which I'm going on to university. These projects have cost me an estimated 250-350 euros, which I'm hoping to maybe get back through this patreon. The mods posted here will be free at one point when I either A: deem them finished or B: can not reasonably work on them anymore, in which case the mods will be made available to the public and the patreon tiers most likely shut down.
"Monthly fees are bad" Honest to god I'm not gonna disagree, however I can not really put a good fixed price on this as I work on the projects constantly. If I would have made it a one time purchase, people would have been mad if the mods got released for free at some point in time, so I figured the best way was this monthly thing for very cheap as well as marketing it strictly as early access.
"Can I subscribe to the cheapest tier and immidiately unsubscribe?" Yes I don't mind and you'll have updates for a month.
"Why no logos?" Licensing.
"Will this ever be released for free?" As said above, yes it will, when I deem it finished. "Finished" means it has multiple generations and there's not much more for me to add. Alternatively if soemthing in my life changes, and I can't update these in good time anymore.
"What will you do with the money from here?" I'm not going to blatantly lie, some of this money will end up in my savings, especially in the start since I'm currently in "debt" due to the expenses I have had building the mods. If the patreon works out better than I expected, that may lead to more reference trips, possibly aquiring equipment (in the form of a 3D scanner) and better sounds. Apart from this, if the patreon goes well, it may make it possible for me to do this part time, instead of working at some retail store in the weekends. Which means you guys get more and better mods.
"What are your plans for the mods"? In short, adding everything I can. I see the trailer as finished for now, however for the truck I plan to build as much as possible. I have already made 4 trips to yards to take a look at trucks IRL, if this patreon affords me some gas money I'll probably make more.
