2025-02-20 00:08:35 +0000 UTCI had James on my podcast a couple years ago and we did a segment where I got him to rate all his albums (Busted, Son of Dork, solo and McBusted) and he ranked this at the bottom. He just said about how it went from being just a super fun time touring and playing songs etc to now having 6 people trying to make an album with 4-5 songwriters and it became a case of too many cooks in the kitchen etc Matt also said on a podcast I listened to that he regrets them doing the album because it turned it from a group of mates having fun on stage and touring to suddenly being a proper official band with a record deal that had to work on and make an album etc

Because I think you’d need to do Busted albums 1 and 2, then Son Of Dork (James’ new band) only album, then Matt’s solo album, then at least Fightstar’s debut album, then at least one of Charlie’s solo albums before getting to Busted’s 3rd and 4th album then by the time you’re done probably album 5 😂 Just so it can properly hit home about the musical journey they went on but also the amount of time between the two.

BUT if you go down that rabbit hole then you then need to go down the rabbit hole of their solo work/other projects! There is: Matts solo album, absolute belter and in my opinion better than and Busted album. James created a band called Son of Dork and their album Welcome to Loserville is a good listen Charlie after he left Busted to be in a band called Fightstar which is quite a bit heavier than Busted. Their song Paint Your Target is an amazing song! Also: In addition to this you mentioned about doing the full McFly discography. It be cool if you was able to do the album called The Greatest Bits: B-Sides & Rarities. I know it's available on Apple Music, but not sure about Spotify. There was also the Memory Lane Greatest Hits Album where the Deluxe version included included many unreleased demos/songs. Cherry Cola and Sunny Side of the Street are particular good ones! Sorry for the essay, went on longer than planned haha.

So the talks of people asking what happened is more “wait why did you guys break up?” Both for SoD and Busted. Riding on my bike is weird as hell but also hard not to vibe with.
