Gone are the days of institutions (& the State) caring for the welfare of each student. It’s all about statistics (gains), a school’s “grade”, and forcing students toward One Goal ALONE: Go to College.

2017-11-16 14:56:29 +0000 UTCSure, the Power helps, but you have to work your ass off to earn enough respect from your classes to Even have it FIRST. It -takes-time & mondo patience. I teach at a state college. My wife is a high school math (mainly algebra) teacher. My mom teaches 1st graders and my younger brother (Mr. Cool) 5th graders. That vacation time is often the ONLY thing hat helps us keep our sanity!! (That and truck loads of alcohol and sharing classroom horror stories on the weekends...)
