The Hall of Torture: The Last Barbarian preview build 2 Changelog!

Good News Everyone! 

The second preview build is ready! What's new?

Changes in the lore and world structure.

As you may remember from the original version, the starting dungeon led us to the Storm Valley, from which we could only access the Arknam Arena. The city of Arknam itself was not represented in the game. I've decided to fix this situation, and I have big plans for this location, which I will write about in the upcoming devlog

Dungeon

The starting location will lead us directly to Arknam, The Hall of Torture will lead to the Storm Valley (as before).
Minor changes:

• Added a starting cutscene.

• Fixed the position of the barbarian after the scene with the half-orc in the cell.

• Added a Door to the Hall of Torture.

• Added a door to Arknam. 
  Hall of Torture!

  As in the original version of the game, here we can optionally save the Elves by solving the portal puzzle, meet the Goddess of Flesh again, learn a bit about what's going on, and try out some new mechanics.

  Portals

  On the floor of some places, there will be symbols of a circle and a triangle, which represent nearby action portals (with their help, we can access otherwise inaccessible locations).

  

  Strange Flesh and Spores

  Unlike the original version of the game, I have an explanation for the appearance of tentacles and living rooms. They are all connected to the Mind Flayer from the original game, and he will play a central role in the story.

  

  New Items

  Protective Mask

  In the Hall of Torture, there are areas where Barbarian may inhale toxic spores. This will lead to unconsciousness and could result in lewd events. ("Gyno table," Bridge tentacles)

  Wear the mask to pass through such areas. It will also be needed in the future to fight certain types of enemies and to navigate traps.

  

  Prostitute's Dress
  Currently, it serves a decorative function. In the future, this outfit will affect the barbarian's earnings and how she is perceived by NPCs.

  Bondage Rope
  It was available in the tutorial level. Now it is available here. In the future, it will affect certain events in the game. For example, if the barbarian wants to show that she belongs to someone or clearly indicate her submission.
  

  Mimic Chest

  A semi-sentient living mold that has settled in a hidden chest, which will attack you if disturbed. Similar chests will appear later in the game.

  

  Anorien
  Unlike the original game, he is not insane yet, but that doesn't change the fact that he's still a "jerk." We can finish this quest in lewd way (Tights job, "Bodyguard Position") or virgin way

  Elf’s Lore Change
  Elves are capable of sharing, reading emotions and sensations, as well as influencing them during physical contact. For this reason, Cultists use only their hands when extracting their "essence."

  Goddess of Flesh

  You can spy on what she's doing with the cultist in the prison chief's office. And take part in it. (rimjob, backdoor fun while lie on cultist back)

  

  Whipping Marks

  If you get stuck in a cell, you can call the guards and pretend to be one of the prisoners. If you act too brazenly, you may be whipped.

  The marks on the barbarian's body will remain and become more noticeable after each strike. This is a new feature that is part of the character customization I'm working on.

  In the future, abrasions, blood, and dirt will appear on the barbarian’s body depending on the level of damage taken.

  

  Why preview build? Not 0.1 or 0.2? When 0.1 or 0.2?
  To avoid confusing players with an endless update counter and not forcing them to start a new game after each major update, I decided to break the development into several stages.
  Preview builds are the stage of creating basic mechanics that will remain in the game until the end of development and can only be improved.
  I'm talking about customization, data storage, interaction with the world, combat, and AI. Right now, I only need to finish the customization.

  Build Size
  The size of the new build has increased, which is due to several large locations (Devenant, Destroyed Arknam) currently in active development that haven’t been represented yet, and Unreal Engine takes them into build during the build process. Honestly, I haven’t fully figured out how to reduce the build size in such cases, but I will try to solve this issue for future updates. Apologies for the inconvenience.
