No, they didn't show it but the creators said it one time and I wanted to let you know about that little snippet

I can definitely see that! They're both pushing for the other to make the call, I think! Haha literally their language is lying

One of the very best episodes. Annabella Sciorra was truly outstanding as Gloria Trillo. Her story is still one of the most powerful on the show.

David Chase mentioned in the scene with Ralph and Tony talking about who is going to do something about Jackie Jr., within that scene both men are lying the entire time. Everything they say is not what they really mean or want.
This is something you'll notice going forward in some many conversations on The Sopranos. Everyone lies to each other. Their language is lying.

It would be cool to be friends with this couple in real life, Daniels reactions comments are damn near the same as mine lol and Sam seems lovely pleasure to be around 👍

When Tony tells Gloria that they had their ‘Amour Fou’, he pronounces it as ‘mofo’. ‘Mofo’ = motherfucker. It all goes back to Livia. Minor details but Goddamn this show is just so cleverly written!

Gloria didn't slash her own tires and this is a really interesting episode as it shows a different (caring) side to Ralphie. And I love Rowe, she's a great boss's wife and felt so sad for her here.

Great episode. Gloria appears to have what is most likely a very severe case of borderline personality disorder. I should emphasize she would be a very severe case.
As a mental health professional, I would say the BPD is up there with schizophrenia in terms of the stigma attached to the diagnosis. The stigma of BPD extends to MHPs. There are many (I don't know the percentage) that don't treat those with BPD if they have the choice. I work at a community mental health clinic so I get very little say in who I treat.
The stigma is not totally unfounded, though. They can be challenging to treat. They often have high rates of suicidality and self-harm. The instability of their relationships can extend to the therapeutic relationship. But it's not hopeless and I've seen clients with BPD improve a great deal.
I do think it is very unfair and if I were diagnosed with BPD I wouldn't tell anyone unless I felt it was necessary or I really trusted the person.

Episode 11 and 12 is such a crazy-good back to back.
Gloria's "I'll tell your wife" followed by Tony locking the door, always makes my heart drop. It's such a terrifying moment.

Amour Fou is definitely my favourite episode that you've seen so far. Just a perfect example of all the things The Sopranos does so well.
I can't believe season 4 is already here. I feel like this show definitely has 2 halves, and that you can feel a change that begins in season 4 and grows through the final 2 seasons. I think it's a change that allowed the show to stay great for 3 more seasons. I can't wait for the storylines that are coming!

TBR's bro crush on Furio geeks me out and I'm here for it. I damn near spit out my beer all over my laptop when he said "not his dick?!"

Fantastic reaction and discussion, as always! I said after last week that, great as it is, I preferred this episode, "Amour Fou ”" to “Pine Barrens”, but one thing is certain is that they capped off an all time great season with three absolute bangers in a row. I think the whole Gloria storyline is the “Sopranos” at its absolute best—psychologically complex, tense, unpredictable and constantly shadowed by dread and doom. And having the unassuming, charisma-free Patsy Parisi giving the final words is a thrillingly genius bit of storytelling.
