I love the bit where those Japanese soldiers fake surrender and Andrew Garfield's character is forced to choose between sticking to the letter of his pacifist life vow, OR whack those grenades back into those weasels’ faces. ❤️

Garfield is a very talented actor who often doesn't get a lot of credit, and Vaughn is very good in the right roll (and this one was perfect for him). On a side note, it's already been recommended, but I'll throw Apocalypto out there again as a must watch. That film really surprised me: a terrifically orchestrated and extremely well paced epic adventure film that really sticks with you well after the credits start rolling. (And, like all of Gibson's movies, it's brutal as hell.)

Hope you'll watch We Were Soldiers (2002) starring Mel Gibson, Greg Kinnear, Sam Elliot and Madeline Stowe, directed by Randall Wallace (Braveheart screenwriter).
