I love the bit where those Japanese soldiers fake surrender and Andrew Garfield's character is forced to choose between sticking to the letter of his pacifist life vow, OR whack those grenades back into those weasels’ faces. ❤️

Great reaction, as always! Garfield is a very talented actor who often doesn't get a lot of credit, and Vaughn is very good in the right roll (and this one was perfect for him). On a side note, it's already been recommended, but I'll throw Apocalypto out there again as a must watch. That film really surprised me: a terrifically orchestrated and extremely well paced epic adventure film that really sticks with you well after the credits start rolling. (And, like all of Gibson's movies, it's brutal as hell.)

This is the first time I've seen this all the way through, at the same time. I started watching it when I first hit video. Got to the courtroom scene, stopped and never got back to it. I saw the war part on some movie channel like a year later.

Amazing reaction, you two! Really enjoyed the watch. xD That jump that Samantha had when he looked over that ledge.. yikes! hahaha, I wasn't expecting you to yelp like that.
Definitely am all for more war film reactions. I don't have any off the top of my head that I can recommend but I trust that you'll choose solid ones. :)
Thanks for great watch!

Can I take it from the intro that you guys have both already seen Braveheart?

This must have been the most silent reaction to date with both of you so invested except the jump scares. Excellent reaction!
Hope you'll watch We Were Soldiers (2002) starring Mel Gibson, Greg Kinnear, Sam Elliot and Madeline Stowe, directed by Randall Wallace (Braveheart screenwriter).

Highly recommend the Australian war movie "Gallipoli" starring a young Mel Gibson.

Mel Gibson is the perfect example of separating the art from the artist. He may be an absolute nutjob, but when he's behind the camera, you cannot deny his ability to make incredible films. Even as a non-believer, Hacksaw Ridge still gets me everytime.
