I'd also recomend A Simple Plan (1998) - Bill Paxton, Billy Bob Thornton, and Bridget Fonda. Won the academy award for best screenplay.

If you guys liked Bridget Fonda in this, check out Point of No Return! Totally underrated action flick!

Bridget Fonda has a small role in The Godfather part 3. She was the reporter who slept with Vincent and got attacked in his appartment. She's married to famed composer Danny Elfman (Batman, Spider-Man, The Simpsons' theme). She retired from acting in 2002. Her last significant role was alongside Jet Li in 2001's Kiss of the Dragon.

I think 'Copland' is extremely underrated. It's got a fuckin amazing ensemble cast, DeNiro, Liotta, Stallone, Keitel. For some reason that movie gets overlooked but I think it's really good. And Stallone gained a shit load of weight for it so he kind of looks dumpy. It's great.

Thank you guys for reacting to this one!
Have you both ever seen From Dusk till Dawn? It's directed by Robert Rodriguez, but the screenplay was written by Quentin Tarantino! If it's not too late, I recommend that before you get to the Kill Bills. lol It was made in 1996.

Also, if you want to see a couple of other movies that give you more of De Niro's range, you definitely need to check out both Midnight Run (one of his best performances) and Brazil (his part in it is smaller, but the movie is a masterpiece).

I am thrilled that you guys watched this. As you now know, this is a great Tarantino film. In my opinion, this is tied for his best next to Inglourious Basterds, but being not as well-known as his other movies, it rarely shows up on the reaction channels. All of the performances are so good, plus Tarantino's usual flair for dialogue.
As Mark mentioned, I really, really, really hope you poll or consider just outright watching Out of Sight, which is another adaptation of an Elmore Leonard novel, this one by director Steven Soderbergh (the Ocean's trilogy), and I think on par with this movie. Another movie that is just incredible that never gets covered because it's not as popular as Pulp Fiction. Get Shorty gets some love (and it is also great and worth watching), but not Out of Sight. You won't regret it.

I honestly at first didn't think it was a Tarantino film but later on speculated or at the very least was like "This is just like a Tarantino film." Didn't fully 100% know until I checked the filmography.
It's a shame we won't get to see your reaction to Pulp Fiction but that's okay :)
Honestly I still vote for including it. I'm not a big fan of the whole "Ohhh it's not a real X because Y" .. like Next Karate Kid isn't really a Karate Kid movie because it sucked or whatever. I watched a video about the other day on why Hillary Duff may make it to Cobra Kai as Julie Pierce from Next Karate Kid, and how while the movie did poorly at the box office it is still loved by fans. I can't speak to that I can only speak that I liked it, but when I was younger I was like not into it as much but predisposed to it for the simple fact that bunch of ppl online said it sucked. (She may actually portray Julie Pierce btw, almost all the actors of Cobra Kai would love the idea of Hillary Duff joining the cast as Julie Pierce)
People like to try to legitimize their opinions to be factual by using logical arguments and stuff like that but The Shining for instance had a lot changed from the original story, but people still see it as a Stephen King movie. It's just all about what people want and how they can justify it.
Just my $0.02 .. To me it doesn't matter whether NBK appears on the channel or if it's in order or anything like that. You know Buffy is what I wanna see on the channel ;) and Toy Soldiers :)

Heh. Well, there you go! :)
For me, Future Boy, there's a (fuzzy) line where reaction videos stop being about reactions and become more about predictions (and then reacting to whether or not those predictions come true - not to the movie itself.) When those predictions turn into full-on conversations, being had over the movie's dialogue, I tend to just stop watching.
Some reactors do this ALL THE TIME, so I don't watch them at all (but others sure do!) I notice that Dan/Sam can slip into it occasionally, but it's not particularly frequent, so I haven't really commented on it. This was the first film reaction of theirs that I found myself almost turning off. Almost! :)
Anyhow, you can't please everyone all the time! So I'm just here, offering my own little bit of constructive criticism :)

We hadn't heard of this film, so I'm not sure if that's just us or the norm, but we have both seen Pulp Fiction prior to the channel, so no reaction, unfortunately! We definitely will watch Natural Born Killers, but from what we've read and what we've been told, it's not really a Tarantino film since it was changed a lot from his original story

It's interesting that people say this is less known. After Pulp Fiction came out and Quentin Tarantino was all the craze everybody was talking about Jackie Brown, but I never saw the actual movie. And I realize JB came out years after Pulp Fiction but I just mean everybody I knew talked about JB and hyped it up way more than PF.
So does this mean you guys have seen Pulp Fiction? We not gonna see it on the channel? but then I looked and saw there are a lot of films between True Romance and Jackie Brown.. Natural Born Killers for one.

It's Yojimbo set in a south-central los angeles crime setting instead of feudal japan. Definitely Tarantino's best, and most grown-up film. Stellar cast, adapted from an Elmore Leonard novel - this one, Get Shorty, and Out of Sight are a trilogy of Elmore Leonard crime novels each by a different director - but there is one character that shows up in two of the movies as the same person (I won't spoil who) - check them out.

The reason this doesn't feel like a Tarantino film is because it's actually based on the book "Rum Punch" by Elmore Leonard! Honestly, even though Jackie Brown stands out when compared to Tarantino's other films, it's my favorite that I've seen.

I like to think Max and Jackie end up together, that maybe Max didn't immediately leave for Spain chasing after her, but after a few days of contemplation, he decided he'd take the risk and join her there. Max had already said that he was tired of the bail bonds business and that it was meeting Jackie that Thursday night that helped him realize he wanted something else in life, so hopefully Max took that risk and ended up in Madrid with Jackie. Such a good movie, though. I think this might be Tarantino's most mature film--one that doesn't rely on ultra violence or shock value to entertain but methodically crafts great characters through simple uses of dialogue and storytelling.

Coffy starring Pam Grier is his favorite blacksploitation film and the Judge in the scene where Jackie first goes to jail is one of the bad guys in Coffy. If TBR were gonna watch any film from that genre Coffee would be the one or J.D's Revenge

I must've seen this film about 5-7 times by now. I like it more every single time I watch it. Pam Grier is SO GOOD and the music is just PHENOMENAL. "Max and Jackie Go To Spain" is the fan fiction I didn't know I needed... until just now :)
But y'all need to chill on the what-exactly-is-going-on-in-this-particular-moment stuff... lol... you work yourselves up into a frenzy! Just RELAX... and enjoy the movie ;)

Oh man this was great, so glad you guys watched it so I could re-watch it and realize how great Jackie Brown really is. I think when it first came out I was like, "well that wasn't Pulp Fiction", but this movie is very different and this time I saw what I must've missed before. Pam Grier was awesome, so were Robert Forster and Sam Jackson, as more of a villain than I'm used to seeing but great at it.
You were also right about it having another great soundtrack, I swear I grew up with half the songs at least, could easily be a Lowrider compilation because that's all the stuff I heard being around my aunt's and uncles when I was a kid lol really love that stuff now.

One of the things you have to love about Tarantino is that it feels like he takes so much care in crafting each character, and so the interactions between his characters always feel so genuine. Love this movie and loved watching it in full length with you guys 😁

I didn't know you liked the Delfonics. They're pretty good!
Pam Grier was a star of 70s Blaxploitation movies (low budget independent movies made by black people, starring black people). Sadly she hasn't really done much after Jackie Brown.
A great thing about Tarantino, he makes movies with women as leads. I'm happy for Sam since she sees a lot of movies on the channel with sometimes all male casts (still great movies!). Onto to Kill Bill!
