Liquor & Swords
2021-09-11 17:38:22 +0000 UTCThe Crow (1994). I know it may not be a horror, but it is a action thriller that takes place around Halloween.

2021-08-31 05:10:58 +0000 UTCThe Omen is a must! A true horror classic, mentioned in the same breath as The Exorcist.
Aaron Barlow
2021-08-23 23:34:12 +0000 UTCCity of Lost Children for future consideration

2021-08-21 01:47:33 +0000 UTCI'm torn between "Rosemary's Baby" and "Invasion of The Body Snatchers", damn. I know neither are going to win this poll, but still..... It's extra great to have the female perspective on "Rosemary's Baby", but then I think about "Body Snatchers".....lol

2021-08-20 11:20:20 +0000 UTCThe VVitch is sooo good.

2021-08-20 02:30:22 +0000 UTCMisery Kathy bates is no joke
Richard Flanagan
2021-08-20 01:29:36 +0000 UTCThese are all great choices. Can't go wrong with any of them. One of my favorite horror movies of recent years though is The Witch (aka The VVitch)

2021-08-19 19:36:22 +0000 UTCGreat Hitchcock-style thriller!

2021-08-19 19:34:51 +0000 UTCPoint of order! The Fly is not really “thriller,” (but I also don’t consider anything without Ashley Judd a “thriller,” not really a genre I recognize, but either way.) The Fly is a Body Horror film, (although it is not as notorious as other films of the genre, à la Society & The Brood,) and I cannot in good conscience let y’all watch that without knowing what you are getting into. The point of content/trigger warnings is not to steer people away from the art but to allow people the time to brace themselves for what might be a triggering experience—anything Body Horror absolutely requires that. I hope eventually y’all do get to see Invasion Of The Body Snatchers (‘78,) and Rosemary’s Baby (‘68,) because they are absolutely amazing films. I do understand why people are voting for The Fly & Misery tho. Godspeed 🙏🏼☺️

2021-08-17 21:39:34 +0000 UTCBlow Out directed by Brian DePalma (Scarface) is a great one I hope you consider checking out

2021-08-17 15:37:17 +0000 UTCYou have the incorrect year for Rosemary’s Baby by the way. 1968 I think. The best movie of the choices but I’m not sure it would produce the best/most fun reaction as it’s more about the slowly building atmosphere rather than plot.

2021-08-17 15:00:50 +0000 UTCMiseryyyy! Though The Fly is also a fantastic film. Can't go wrong
Lee Brennan
2021-08-16 20:41:34 +0000 UTC"Invasion Of The Body Snatchers" and "Rosemary's Baby" most definitely. I definitely want to see Sam react to "Rosemary's Baby", as women see all kinds of things in that movie that men miss.

2021-08-16 19:41:02 +0000 UTCThe Fly? Has one of your supporters created bots to win polls? Misery, PERIOD.

2021-08-16 18:19:00 +0000 UTCThe People Under the Stairs, 1991

2021-08-16 16:20:33 +0000 UTCDon't sleep on the 2020 "Invisble Man". That was one of the best thrillers I've seen in a long while.
Mr. Writhms
2021-08-16 16:17:00 +0000 UTCIf you love Stephen King adaptations, then put Stand By Me on your next drama poll. As close to a flawless film as you're gonna see
Shehab Dawoud
2021-08-16 16:15:57 +0000 UTCYou should add the 1973 film Don’t look now to the poll.

2021-08-16 15:59:16 +0000 UTCBeen loving the Stephen King adaptations! -Sam

2021-08-16 15:54:41 +0000 UTCI hope The Thing (John Carpenter) is off the list because you've already seen it...

2021-08-16 15:53:43 +0000 UTCOh man... "The Omen". That Oscar winning music score alone is enough to creep you out.
Mr. Writhms
2021-08-16 15:50:06 +0000 UTCLots of good options. The Omen and Rosemary's Baby are slow burn classics. The Fly might be my favorite on the list. I just watched Midsommar a few days ago...it was quite bizarre and definitely reaction worthy.

2021-08-16 15:49:17 +0000 UTCThe Fly and Misery are both so good. Can’t go wrong with either.
Jeff
2021-08-16 15:47:19 +0000 UTCPretty much all of these are must see but the one I still think about is Midsommar and not just because of recency bias. Also, the Invisible Man is pretty good but I think it's more suspense/thriller than straight up horror but still watch it. Some logic issues aside, it's good. Elizabeth Moss is amazing in it.

2021-08-16 15:47:09 +0000 UTCGotta be Misery!

2021-08-16 15:43:31 +0000 UTCMisery is too good to be missed. Arguably the best adaptation of a Stephen King novel bar none.
