Cary Fukanaga (the director of all episodes of season 1) directed the new Bond movie that is about to come out. I read somewhere that he got the job based on his work on that specific episode of True Detective.

I literally can't wait for you guys to watch the rest of it, of course I'm gonna, I've seen the series before but I was so anxious to get to the end I binged it and thus, didn't appreciate all the nuance and awesomeness of the writing, and the acting. It's almost better on my second watch, I know the plot and the ending, but it's still so fun to watch the story progress again with you, glad you guys are digging it!
