I believe it was just Compound V. They didn't have special powers but they were more than just a little stronger, sturdier, etc. The whole point was they were powerful enough to essentially have a cold war-style stalemate with the Seven and to 'punish' any other supes that got out of line. Hughie accidentally punches through the body of a supe he was fighting when he first got injected because he didn't know how string he really was, IIRC.

Wasn't it a Compound V derivative? They didn't have powers so much as they were just a little sturdier, a little stronger, a little faster than normal people.

Yeah, she just had part of her neck torn out. There would have at least been some collateral burn damage if Becca had taken the damage from the eye blast.

Completely agree about Homelander! It's so wild how they manage to do that. Wow! I didn't know that about the comics. I can't imagine them even wanting to take Compound V!

I agree! It was collateral damage from Ryan destroying Storefront!

The show does a really good job of allowing Homelander small human moments so he's not just a straight 100% psychopath. I think he was mostly being real with Ryan, with enrcouraging his power use mostly being secondary. And while I wouldnt say his life has been a tragedy, of course, but it does bring up the nature vs nurture argument between him and his son. And Herogasm in season 2 is going to RIDICULOUS. Can't wait.
Also, in tne comics The Boys all took compound V and are super-powered, which was the Homelander and The Seven contigency. The show's The Boys not being super powered is so much better in so many ways.

I think Becca died because Stormfront had her by the neck when she was hit by Ryan. She would have looked much worse if she got a direct hit.

"I could split that shit like dry firewood."
[dramatic pause] "Big fan."
The guy who plays Hughie is so great.
