When I was in the Marine Corps (one of my little brothers and I were both mortarmen, same MOS as Sledge, Sid, and Snafu) my unit did some training in Japan. We'd been in a position all morning with a small clump of trees in front of us, scoping out everything in sight with our binoculars. We heard a motor start, and the clump of trees drove away. The Japanese military was still scary good at camouflage in the 1970s. Your reactions are outstanding, catching the human aspects, and also contrasting this war with the war in Europe the soldiers in Band of Brothers were experiencing. This is a hard series to watch. Thanks.

2023-12-11 16:58:32 +0000 UTCAnother great reaction! I think you two are the only ones who caught the sad scene of the dying radio man trying to call in air support. That always made me teary eyed. The entire airfield assault is horrific. In addition, the lack of water made me thirsty- can’t imagine what they suffered in that terrible attack. Looking forward to the next one!
