It absolutely seems that way! I think Monica already knew there was something within her that was different, but it's interesting to see how the hex may or may not have affected it. I like that theory too, Jason! About the hex getting thinner as it expands. All super interesting theories. -Sam

2021-05-31 02:18:53 +0000 UTCThat's a good point about the Hex going through people vs Monica going through the Hex and I think maybe it could be explained that when the Hex expands, it is also becoming thinner for lack of a better word, like those toys that when you push them together they make a thick ball but then you pull it a part and it's more spread out, and that could be the hex as it is expanding and rewriting reality - plus there's no resistance - when Monica went through, when she was pushed through by Wanda the first time, the Hex was in its "solid state" and when Monica pushed through the second time, she was like INSIDE the hex for a long period of time - and maybe that also did UNLOCK something as Steven mentions above. Good theories all around, people. We win life.

2021-05-24 01:11:30 +0000 UTCI think the cosmic radiation/barrier from the hex might have just triggered something that was already there. Notice how Monica didn't seem fazed at all when her scans came back all white in episode 5, and how she wasn't bothered when Darcy told her her DNA had literally been changed. It's also possible that the hex didn't actually do anything at all, and Darcy just assumed based on Monica's DNA being notably changed and supernatural things being at play.

Monica passed through the barrier whereas everyone in the hex was just trapped inside - it was going through the barrier that gave Monica her powers so I don't think anyone else was affected the same way she was. That's my guess.
