Oh I hope you get around to watch Her!

Domino

The Hidden (1987) staring Kyle Maclachlan

christopher brown

Stanley Kubrick’s 2001 is an absolute masterpiece of a film and one of my personal favorites; I hope it wins.

Nick of Time

Touchdown! The clue was the mention that Black Hawk Down was only the second Ridley Scott movie you'd seen. Blade Runner was the movie he did right after Alien. In some ways it almost feels like the two films could be taking place in the same universe. Both Alien and Blade Runner have had such a huge influence on movies. They both changed how we see sci-fi. Yep, see if you can give Blade Runner a special dispensation to get it stuck into the list.

Neal Romanek

I don’t want to alarm you, but no, we haven’t seen the any Blade Runner films! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

So many good Sylvester Stallone movies! Hope to see some on the channel. They're a lot of fun.

Mike Tocci

Blade Runner is a sci-fi classic! Ridley Scott directed it and starred Harrison Ford, the "Final Cut" version looks great.

Ken Adams

The 1978 Body Snatches is really good, but the original is a classic. Lots of people these days don't want to give older black and white movies a chance. Still, The original was hugely influential and has an ending that became hugely famous (as did the '78 version). The original was way before my time too but I've grown to respect the b&w classics and some of them have even become favorites.

Mike Tocci

Brazil falling even farther -- more people who vote on these polls need to see it!

Tyler Foster

Whoa! I'm just assuming you've watched the original Blade Runner. You've watched the original Blade Runner, right?

Neal Romanek

Inner Space is an 80's classic, directed by Joe Dante (Gremlins, The Howling)

Neal Romanek

I can’t wait for Ex Machina!

Tom Morris

We can't wait to watch them all! It sounds like 2001 is a love it or leave it type. -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Ahh good to know! We'll do our best to be really self aware when we watch 2001: A Space Odyssey! We've definitely had one or two reactions of mostly silence from not knowing what's going on haha -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Yeah, although part of the appeal is you not having seen them, and it could make this tricky, I imagine you can tell which movies are going to be in the "Escape From New York tier" of poll crushers just by number of comments.

Tyler Foster

Thank you for the recommendations! Let's see, we have seen (and loved) The Fifth Element and Mars Attacks! Both fantastic films that we've seen a few times over. I haven't seen Inner Space or the Cube! Starship Troopers is on the schedule for June! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

So many awesome movies to watch! We're so excited to get to them all :) -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Ah that was my bad! I googled it to get the year and the 2002 one came up first and suggested on google. I didn't even realize there were multiple versions. Usually the original is the way to go! Except Invasion of the Body Snatchers, from what I've heard. Thanks for letting us know! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

I like that idea for the polls! Cult movies. We've managed to watch a few that I would think are cult movies on the channel or at least much lesser known, so we'll definitely try to get to them all. -Sam

TBR Schmitt

We can't wait to watch it! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Unfortunately, we've seen all of those! We loved them too. I wish we could do a reaction to them all :( -Sam

TBR Schmitt

This seems like a popular request! I haven't seen it and I don't think TBR Schmitt has either! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

We definitely want to watch a ton more John Carpenter! We've loved them all so far. So many movies to watch, so little time in a week :) -Sam

TBR Schmitt

We loved Arrival! Unfortunately, we've already seen it! It would have been so much fun to react to. I remember we had such a lengthy discussion when we were leaving the theater after watching it with TBR Schmitt's family. So good! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Thank you for the recommendation, Louis! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Ah we loved Arrival! Unfortunately, we've both seen it so we won't be able to do a first time reaction. -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Yes, we loved WW (2017)! We have seen Interstellar, Matrix, V for Vendetta and Kick Ass for sure. I haven't seen Snowpiercer, Dark City or Galaxy Quest. I know TBR Schmitt has seen Snowpiercer (he loved it), but I'll check with him. Thanks for the recommendations! -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Escape From N.Y., Invasion of The Body Snatchers and Forbidden Planet are all classics. 2001 is visually stunning, but I always thought it was overvalued and overrated. Kubrick made so much better films.

Mike Tocci

Not looking good so far, haha. I hope it hangs around even with a 3%. Maybe they can do a "cult movie" poll where all the stragglers like Brazil and Mulholland Dr. can duke it out so that they stand a chance rather than being easily trounced by the heavy-hitters.

Tyler Foster

Agreed, good film but Escape From NY makes for a better reaction

Ken Veader

My vote is for Escape from New York, I'm not saying 2001 A space odyssey isn't good, but it's a very visually told story that leaves most people just staring at the screen the whole time like a zombie. I hope TBR and Sam are planning to talk through the whole thing when they do 2001 otherwise the entertaining part of a reaction video would be the aftermath while they discuss what the hell they just watched lmao :)

Christopher Plucinski

Gotta watch Escape From New York, everyone needs more 80s Kurt Russell in their life

Sarlacc1979

I like all of those suggestions, and I own all of those movies except Mars attacks, seen it though.

Christopher Plucinski

"Inner Space" (1987) "The Fifth Element" (1997) "Cube" (1997) "Mars Attacks" (1997) "Starship Troopers" (1997) And "Demolition Man" (1993) would be a good time to start with movies from Arnold's rival Sylvester Stallone 😁

Mr. Writhms

I would think watch a lot of more recent sci-fi movies and then go back and see how 2001 influenced them. Like Alien owes a lot to 2001. And then so many films after that owe so much to Alien.

Neal Romanek

Yeah, it's a must-see.

Neal Romanek

2001 A Space Odyssey just to keep your Kubrick education going but hot damn I'm super hyped for you both to watch EX MACHINA... but 2001 is sort of the primer for all AI movies.

Jason Dolan

If you're gonna do Solaris, please watch the original instead.

Jimmie V

Brazil is incredible, and sadly does not seem very likely to win a poll, since fewer people have seen it. Hope it at least makes a decent showing, though.

Tyler Foster

Great list, but I must go with 2001. It seems to be a love it or hate it film, but I think it remains one of the great pieces of 20th century cinema. I had the opportunity to see it in 70mm a few years back and it was fantastic. The first time I saw it was a friend showing me the movie. He was and is a fan of the film itself, but his primary reason for showing it to me was so he could sync up Pink Floyd's "Echoes" with the "Jupiter and Beyond the Infinite" segment lol.

Mitchell Smilie

Agree with Arrival, I would add District 9 & The Martian.

no taeyoung

Galaxy Quest? It has Sam Rockwell.....

Sean McDonough

If Escape From New York wasn't on the list 2001 would have been perfect, but it would be fun to see you guys watch more John Carpenter films. He had a streak of eight or nine stellar films from the late 70s to the late 80s, a couple of which (Halloween and The Thing) you have already covered.

Peter A. Leggieri

2001: A Space Odyssey is mind blowing in how ahead of it's time it is. Such a masterpiece! Putting in a suggestion for 'Arrival' from 2016. Incredible sci-fi movie. One of the best modern ones imo 👍

Lee Brennan

I would suggest Oblivion (2013) Great Sci-Fi movie.

Louis Pedroza

I’d like to suggest Arrival starring Amy Adams

Vic Abriam

I see you have reacted to WW 1984 so sadly I assume you have seen one of my all time favorite movies the original 2017 WW. Some other sci fi gems if you have not seen them already: Interstellar, The Matrix, V for Vendetta, Kick Ass, Snowpiercer, Dark City and Galaxy Quest.

Andrew Roach

We have both already seen (and loved) Edge of Tomorrow, so unfortunately we cannot make a reaction for the channel. Let us know if you have any other Sci-Fi recommendations. -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Thank you, Justin! Let us know what you end up going with :) -Sam

TBR Schmitt

Nothing too exciting here. Tom Cruise's Edge of Tomorrow is a masterpiece and so underrated thanks to people thinking it would be like the bland Oblivion.

Andrew Roach

Oh wow! So many great choices. Many of them quite heady. I may come back to this poll to see how the wind blows.
