2021-04-13 04:02:19 +0000 UTCNo list if war movies is complete without The Dirty Dozen (1967). One of the best and most exciting films of it's era.

2021-04-11 20:12:23 +0000 UTCSince you've seen "Black Hawk Down"... may I suggest you watch both the poll winner and the second runner up: "Apocalypse Now" ? 😁

2021-04-09 13:56:23 +0000 UTCAnd if you're feeling really, really adventurous, the best war movie ever made is Come And See (1985), a Soviet movie about the Nazi occupation of Belarus (which saw the worse atrocities of WW2). Devastating and amazing.
Neal Romanek
2021-04-06 14:13:55 +0000 UTCI'll keep saying it: The Deer Hunter. Also Gallipoli (1981) is one the best war films ever made - and introduced Mel Gibson to the world.

2021-04-06 11:13:36 +0000 UTCMaster and Commander should go on a poll.

2021-04-06 01:00:48 +0000 UTCMaybe consider adding Glory (1989) to future polls

2021-04-04 20:21:11 +0000 UTCApocalypse Now is a great war film. So, I will choose this one. However, if this wins the poll, I think you should check out the film Hearts of Darkness: A Filmmaker's Apocalypse. It is a behind the scenes documentary about the making of Apocalypse Now. I liked that film better than the actual movie, and that is saying something with how amazing Apocalypse Now is.
