Why full matches have been uploaded to AEW Youtube of late.
Added 2025-06-11 21:53:19 +0000 UTCAEW has finally been releasing some of their most iconic matches on Youtube, and drawing good traffic doing so.
Of late, AEW has been posting a number of their biggest, best and most important matches on Youtube. Previously, their catalog wasn't always the easiest to access, especially as it pertained to their big matches and PPV moments. We asked within AEW as to why this changed.
Those we spoke to claimed that the uploads were a part of AEW's strategy to drive traffic towards their streaming content. There are plugs in the description of each on of the full matches, directing fans to the service. There are some exclusions, as WrestleDream isn't up in full on the HBO Max service yet, but we were told that was the motivation.
Some of the matches do not feature commentary. We're told that was because of the social media buzz around some of the clips that had been posted, and the company wanted to see how fans continued to respond to it.
Comments
In the past AEW/WBD have been really restrictive regarding things like reaction channels reacting to their content. Do you if there has been any change or ease on those restrictions for certain videos.
