Carmella's WWE Contract Expired Recently

A former World Champion has had their contract expire.

Masked J of PWN and Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp have learned that former Women's Champion Carmella has had her contract expire recently and is technically no longer with WWE.

Carmella last wrestled for WWE in March 2023, but had only been back for about six weeks. She'd been out of action since 2022 prior. She's since had a child and noted she was battling drop foot.

Fuck Corporate America

Hard to imagine this doesn't have some slight reason for the Corey Graves situation, no?

Rob Iapicca

She's been out two years.

Perhaps makes more sense for why he wasn’t initially a team player when being moved to NXT perhaps was something he would have been more receptive to otherwise (as it not making frustrations public)

Technically, and I’m not supporting the billion dollar organisation here. But technically an employer only has to be pay a certain period of maternity leave, I believe that’s under 12 months. Her and Alexa were paid for almost 2 years. Alexa re-negotiated her deal. Maybe Carmella has been told she can’t wrestle again because of pregnancy complications she had.

Corporate don't care bro

Even the countries with the best maternity policies are not required to hold your job beyond a year, after that someone would go on disability if their injury/illness rates high enough. Why are you acting like childbirth was an on the job injury???

TorchCrawler

And this is a reason Corey graves is upset, right

Chris Doyle

Starting to put some things together lol

Absolutely insane to think about. In either case I could see the talent in question saying “don’t renew my contract” but with no info or clarity past this, it’s very strange

Iirc Karl Anderson was cut while injured recently. Apparently TKO gives no shits about talent health

LostRhino

So no injury time?

Marcos

And they’re just not paying her any more???? That’s what this seems like. I’d be glad to be wrong. But if someone works for you and they go on maternity leave and then become ill as a result, maybe,,,, keep them in the payroll???
