NXT notes from Corey Brennan

- CM Punk stayed after the show and spent thirty minutes taking pictures with fans. 

- CM Punk’s segment with Roxanne Perez and Giulia went longer than originally planned.

- Terry Taylor produced Dion Lennox vs Brooks Jensen.

- The internal name for the show was “Straight Edge Down The Middle”.

- There was an error in the broadcast, as the commercial break during Lyra Valkyria and Tatum Paxley vs Rosemary and Wendy Choo was planned to be picture in picture.

NORTH Wrestling Owner Andrew Bowers Interview Notes

Fightful’s Corey Brennan recently sat down with NORTH Wrestling owner and head of Progress creative Andrew Bowers for an interview.

Discussing the beginning of NORTH Wrestling, Andrew reflected on attending an independent wrestling show in 2016 that inspired him to try promoting a wrestling promotion and began sending out messages to organize a show and sold 160 tickets for NORTH’s first show in the end.

On difficulties that he faced in the early days of NORTH, Andrew pointed to the competitive nature and minimal profit margins being an issue. He also noted that the beginning of WCPW and competition with other promotions lead to early challenges for him as a promoter.

On working as head of creative for Progress Wrestling, Andrew pointed to his co-workers in the promotion and noted it had been a hectic six months since taking over the role. On talent coming back to NORTH following signing with the likes of WWE and TNA, Andrew spoke proudly of the trust that has been built between the promotion and talent over the years. Andrew would also highlight other talent across North’s roster, including Will Kroos, Liam Slater and more.

On not having a Women’s championship with NORTH, Andrew explained that he does not want to have gender roles in NORTH, with intergender matches being the norm. He also noted that there hasn’t been any consideration to use a women’s championship, but if it is ever needed, he will gladly create one. Andrew also noted that NORTH recently airing on Freeview TV in the UK was an amazing moment for him and the promotion itself.

Andrew also confirmed that there are plans for more future events outside the North of the UK following the success of All Caps All Day in London over All In weekend.
