WIP or Nah?

I don't know about this one. I really liked the initial idea, but then I felt the need to experiment with how I do line-art and coloring (based on a tutorial) and all I think I've done is dug myself into a hole that I'm not sure how to crawl out of. I think I can make this image look alright eventually, but it'll take more time than it deserves. I still really like what I did with the resent sketch of Thistle, and I'm trying to use that method to create larger compositions, but all I end up doing is making more work for myself that's frustrating to get through. I don't know. Maybe a failed experiment.

Yeah, I'm also getting that feeling. It might just be unrelated. It might be just because I'm experimenting, but I have a problem with associating my feelings with the things I'm working on.

I get the feeling that the return of Key brought you more trouble than it's worth it

Dude, you did an awesome job. Don't be your own worst critic man. You got talent, skill and do great. So just enjoy the coolness!

As James said learning experience and yeah you're being wayyy too hard on yourself

That black guy

Think of it as a successful learning experience.

I wouldn't say this is a failed experiment. Looks great to me. :)

I would leave this one as is, to be honest. If you're going to beat yourself up about something because it's going to take you "too long" to finish it when all of us non-artists have no clue what you're talking about, then just let it be.

hope things are good ?

So far so good, the scarab is perfect, but up to you, in my opinion you should finish it, at least to know how long it take this method, but no stress

I guess this is the problem when an artist talk about his art with people who don't know art because I think it looks alright and have no idea what you are talking about
