Daily Sketch: Ballerina Wedgie

Whoa! A colored sketch? I guess so. Just trying it out. The most frustrating part of making any piece is making the clean line-art layer. It's tedious. Colored sketches skips that step, although you end up with some really messy lines, and some coloring outside of the lines. Does this look okay though? If you were a commissioner, would you be happy with a final product like this?

Good point. I'm having trouble figuring out prices. Even if I banged out something super quick that was worth $10, and $10 commission isn't worth the time and effort to organize, so I'd really never want to open the floor to such inexpensive options.

I would be happy, assuming I knew this is what I was getting - if you just make clear what prices are for what style, they it will be all good

I'd be very happy with this if I was the commissioner. Your sketches always have good energy, and this style of line preserves that energy to it's fullest I think.

If I were to commission a sketch that was colored like this, I would be more than happy. It looks good. :)

Hope we see more ballerinas

Both? Both. both!

Cool. I just wanted to make sure that this style didn't look 'better' to people. I have trouble anticipating what people like.

I always prefer colored images like this, even if a bit of sharpness is lost on the lines. Comparing this process to the previous sketch, this is the one I'd prefer for a mid-tier commission, whereas I'd really pony up for something like Cadence's Rapier. Have to hesitate on putting a price on each 'tier', since I'm not sure what the going rates are, but yeah: Clean B&W < 'Messy' colors' < Sharp colors for me. If this makes for easier sketches, I'd say go for it.

I would be happy is its that, a color sketch, is a nice piece, albeit I would prefer 2 older girls ^^
