Myron Reed talks Indie run, Rascalz, Leaving MLW

Fightful Select had the opportunity to catch up with The Rascalz Myron Reed at the Squared Circle Expo in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp spoke with the MLW World Middleweight Champion, and the two discussed various topics.

Sean asked Myron about the feeling of being outside of MLW now. Reed said he feels free to test everything and mentioned that he has learned much about himself. He added that getting to work with better talent helps him challenge himself.

Myron says it’s cool knowing that there are people out there who watch him and are inspired to become wrestlers themselves. He added, “You're going to build a fan base; you're going to build people that respect and admire you and look up to you just like the people that came before me, guys like Lio Rush.”

Sean asked when Myron realized he could do things that most humans cannot. Myron mentioned that Wes Lee and Trey Miguel would always tell him he was very athletic, but he just needed to learn to control it. Myron said he felt like he had honed his craft within the past two years.

Sean mentioned how The Rascalz will always be naturally linked together and asked Myron if he thinks all four will be together again. He said, “Yes, maybe not now, but I think it will happen.”

The two talked about the crowd at the Squared Circle Expo, how the Black Label Pro show card was stacked, and how it had been standing room only the night before.

Myron mentioned to Fightful that he’s realizing his worth and can make a living off the Indies. Myron said that when his contract with MLW ran out, he wanted to prove himself before looking for another contract elsewhere and establishing himself as a free agent.

Myron says he knows he always has to keep getting better. He added that you will never get to a point where you can’t keep learning.

In closing, Sean asked Myron to name someone he’s wrestled with in the past year who has taken him aback. Myron said Jay Malachi [known in WWE as Je’Von Evans]. He said, “What the hell [laughing], I’m wrestling somebody that’s just like me. I’m like looking into a mirror right now.”
