WWE Looking To Replicate France Atmosphere In The US
Added 2024-05-12 21:00:04 +0000 UTCOver the weekend, WWE headed to Lyon, France for Friday Night SmackDown and WWE Backlash. One thing agreed upon by many fans is that the crowd was the star of the show, and one reaction in particular piqued WWE’s interest.
In a dark match after Friday’s SmackDown and prior to his World Heavyweight Championship match with Damian Priest at Backlash, Jey Uso received an incredible reaction from the crowd, where they would use their phone flashlights while doing Uso’s signature Yeet taunt during his entrance.
Those that Fightful Select’s Corey Brennan spoke to in WWE production note that Uso’s reactions were received incredibly well within WWE, with the company planning to heavily push fans towards mimicking the Lyon crowd for Jey’s entrances in the future. We are told that the crowd lighting will continue to be dimmed during Uso’s entrances and any examples of Uso’s theme being played in the mainstream will continue to be showcased on television.

Some of these zombie American crowds don’t deserve events anymore. They should really just not come back to cities where they just sit on their ass doing nothing.

2024-05-12 23:31:27 +0000 UTCChildren as a main demographic would have to change. Also usually just a bigger city in the East thing. Rest of the country is relatively slower or more laid back, and doesn’t have the sports/community atmosphere. Outside of maybe college football.

There’s a reason a good amount of American soccer fans watch/cheer for an EPL team over an MLS team. We just have a wildly different fan culture in America and it’s mostly either toxic or mid at best.
