If 99% of the population is being culled by the Skai, that means that statistically, everyone left alive would have lost almost everyone they know. Unless you are just selected with +1s invited, that's a lot of trauma to carry with you. If you care more about the Earth/Eiyr surviving, this is probably the better plan. On the other hand, if you care more about the human race surviving, the Nave plan is probably better. Having only 80 million humans left according to the Skai means a lot of problems for the population. Is this Thanos style where it's random? What if it's mostly one sex left after the culling? Are the survivors chosen for the genetic diversity, or will they all have similar traits that the Skai desire (docility, socialization, loyalty,etc)? Will they be able to rebuild the population within 10 generations, or will they be sterile/selectively permitted to have offspring?
