Santos Escobar Tells Fightful About Reforming LWO

Fightful Select caught up with the LWO’s Santos Escobar during media availability leading up to Money in the Bank in London. Sean Ross Sapp mentioned that he and Escobar spoke in Los Angeles for WrestleMania, and Escobar did some foreshadowing regarding his future.

Sean would ask Escobar how he felt when told that the LWO was possible. Escobar told Sean, "If we look back at the past few months, it’s been crazy. I have been having the best night of my life over and over and over again.”

Santos would add that one of the big things for him is that he remembers what he is all about, which is Lucha Libre. Santos noted that the LWO is something he always wanted to do once he got to the WWE. Santos added that he wanted to go through Rey [Mysterio].

Santos mentioned that he not only wanted to wrestle Rey, but he also wanted to be in a faction with him. Santos says it is something you can’t plan. Escobar thought they did it right by doing it in LA during Mania week. Rey also being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame that same night was just crazy.

Santos said the LWO felt like a movement or a phenomenon. He would say that the LWO is for Latinos in the United States, Latin America, or worldwide. Santos also adds that the LWO represents people with the will, determination, and grit to overcome obstacles.
