Cody Rhodes Talks Smashing Triple H's Throne
Added 2023-07-21 21:36:12 +0000 UTCCody Rhodes "smashed the throne" in 2019, but it hasn't caused issues between he and Triple H.
At an AEW PPV in 2019, Cody Rhodes symbolically smashed Triple H's throne, leading many to believe the two sides had or would have long-lasting heat. However, since Cody returned to WWE in 2022, we've not heard anything about that. When Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp asked Cody Rhodes what Triple H's reaction was, he said that he's sure that Triple H has seen it, but it hasn't been broached or caused any friction between the two. He said that what makes him so sure that Triple H has seen it is that he'll reference short lines from fairly obscure online interviews that many would think would fly under the radar.
Cody said the thing that he was more concerned about Triple H seeing was the Being The Elite bit about Cody's exorcism, where he would recite WWE facts and be "brainwashed by WWE." In the bit, Triple H was referenced as the bad guy. Frankie Kazarian portrayed a character implied to be Triple H, and Cody said he did a great job.
Cody Rhodes' documentary premieres on Peacock on July 31.

I think he knows what AEW is doing but just doesn't care cuz he knows, regardless of what some fans think, that it doesn't directly affect his job at all.
