Select Portions: WWE PLEs, MVP, More

- We've been told WWE has spoken with reps in Australia to gauge interest of a potential PLE event.

- It is worth noting, often times when information is leaked to local outlets that a city is a "front runner" or "finalist" for a PLE to appear, it's to drum up interest in the area well before that's an actual reality.

MVP

The former two-time WWE United States Champion MVP spoke with Fightful Select during WrestleMania Week. When Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp asked about how his entrance song “I’m Comin’” from Silkk The Shocker came to be, he said Vince McMahon was the one who told him and was standing beside him when he heard it for the first time. He also mentioned that Vince danced along with it as it played. MVP said he did not like it at first initially but grew to like it. MVP talked about his love for Grappling and said he has always enjoyed it. He mentioned that he wrestled amateur and in Junior High. MVP said Norman Smiley was one of his early mentors, who was also a grappler. He still competes and hopes to get some of his injuries figured out so he can go after a brown belt this year.

He has the brown belt that he won at the World Championship Masters. MVP said he was interested in MMA before getting into wrestling. He said Josh Rafferty encouraged him to take up an MMA fight. MVP would mention that they became good friends, but he thought he was too old to be elbowed in the face.

MVP would then talk about Kimbo Slice. He and Kimbo were friends as they came up together on South Beach. He said Kimbo talked about possibly fighting him one night; they could sell it as if they hated each other even though they didn’t at all and were friends. MVP said that he has grappled with Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin. He noted that Lashley moved to Dallas and is closer to him now.

MVP finished the interview by saying that he has grappled with Shelton Benjamin quite a bit and is ridiculous.
