WWE reaches new deal with Twitch
Added 2023-04-18 18:57:06 +0000 UTCThere’s some great news if you miss WWE wrestlers streaming on Twitch, it’s picking up in a big way.
Fightful Select has learned that WWE and Twitch reached an agreement to allow WWE wrestlers back on twitch with almost no restrictions. Those we spoke to said that the revenue will be a three-way split that Twitch and the talent take the vast majority of.
“Almost” no restrictions was outlined to us as not permitting talent to stream with people from other companies unless it’s cleared first.
Talent that we spoke to were very happy about the deal.
In April of 2022, there was a talent meeting that was held to notify wrestlers that they’d have the opportunity to expand their third party platforms again. However, it took longer for WWE to work out a deal with Twitch, which we are told has been finalized.
In the fall of 2020, a decree was made to eliminate numerous third party deals and platforms for talent. This led to frustration across the roster, with many citing it as a contributing factor to their desire to perform elsewhere.

2023-04-19 15:26:55 +0000 UTCagain why would sean lie , it's literally in the report that twitch and talent get a vast majority of the revenue , you're just trying to to twist the narrative in your favor to fit your agenda. stop being paranoid it's okay to admit when wwe does a good thing 🤷🏻♂️

2023-04-19 04:27:15 +0000 UTCah yes, and I totally believe wwe is going to settle for crumbs after the stink they raised about streaming the first time. They have agreements in place with twitch now, We'll never see the revenue split.

2023-04-19 04:22:29 +0000 UTCIt is really quite insane , like why would sean lie in his own report about that?? people are quite dumb and obviously can't read..

2023-04-19 04:18:32 +0000 UTCThis is proof that, no matter how clear and straight forward the report might be, the haters would much rather come to their own conclusions to fit their agenda LOL
2023-04-19 04:02:18 +0000 UTCI'll take that bet considering its written CLEARLY in the article that they aren't.

2023-04-18 23:25:54 +0000 UTCwho wants to bet the E gets like 50% cuts of all donos and subs

2023-04-18 22:09:41 +0000 UTCI hope the wrestlers get a decent amount. The few Twitch streamers I follow say that Twitch takes nearly half of their income already. Add to that WWE's cut and I wonder if it's still worth it

2023-04-18 21:13:06 +0000 UTCI assume the streaming with people from other companies is about Da Party, Rhea, Zelina, and Mia. Possibly Bayley with Mercedes?

2023-04-18 20:42:34 +0000 UTCKind of annoying that they feel like they need to get a cut of EVERYTHING people who aren't even their employees do.

2023-04-18 20:09:48 +0000 UTCThe fact WWE takes anything is greed

2023-04-18 20:07:54 +0000 UTCAs Sean mentioned in the article (and in the comment section), Twitch, WWE and the talent will have a three-way spilt over revenue with Twitch and WWE talent getting the most amount and WWE getting a small amount.
Juan Ortiz
2023-04-18 19:53:38 +0000 UTCa very small amount
Fightful Select
2023-04-18 19:49:01 +0000 UTCIt's a negligible amount
Fightful Select
2023-04-18 19:48:53 +0000 UTCNot really, the WWE will take a cut

2023-04-18 19:30:34 +0000 UTCThis is great for the talent and the fans. But this could also be what corporations do at the beginning of new ownership/merge and that's to get as much good pr out beforehand.

2023-04-18 19:27:06 +0000 UTCFor a period of time people on the main roster were not permitted to stream at all, even under their real name or another alias. Even though she was in NXT- Dakota Kai also stopped streaming at that point, possibly in solidarity with Mia Yim who had not been permitted to stream even under the name itsMeSYB (her real human government name initials) Dakota Kai has always just been Charliegirl, she streamed when she was still working out of Australia.

2023-04-18 19:21:51 +0000 UTCWith this deal they’ll be able to get a lot more traction online through it than if they just decided to stream independently. Being as Dakota Kai has been streaming this whole time under a different name I would imagine others could have done that too, if they wanted.

2023-04-18 19:04:46 +0000 UTCLove the fact the talent are suppose to be grateful they can steam lol. It’s a joke that they even take a cut of the revenue.
