More on what WWE's plans for Davey Boy Smith Jr. were
Added 2023-02-26 16:00:02 +0000 UTCWe spoke to Davey Boy Smith Jr, who says he's been enjoying his time in MLW.
When asked if he'd re-sign with WWE, he said that if the did, it would only be for the paycheck and doesn't believe his heart would be into the content they produce. After the last go around, he was glad they paid him well to spend his time getting in shape, but said that doing that also was costly for him. He reiterated that the gimmick WWE had planned for him was the Stampede Stud, which he was actually pretty excited for. He thought his dark matches in the company went well, and he said that Vince McMahon told him he looked good. Smith was supposed to debut for the Smackdown brand before he was fired.
As of now, Smith is in MLW, and working with Bret Hart in the Dungeon Wrestling company. He says he's very happy to be working with his cousins, the Billington Bulldogs. He said that they didn't keep in touch as often as he'd liked before they came to MLW, but has liked doing work with them, as well as with Alex Kane. He spoke highly of the creative freedom in MLW, but admitted the no ropes catch wrestling match was an MLW pitch to him, not one of his own.

2023-02-26 17:29:44 +0000 UTCI dont necessarily think thats the case cause Teddy was on TD a fair bit and it didnt hurt Natalya at all. I think its just more DBS' style just generally doesnt work in a major american company. If it did, Gulak and Thatcher would be mainstays on tv

2023-02-26 17:18:24 +0000 UTCI think DBS Jr suffers from his association to Teddy. Natalya was able to dig in roots in WWE, but the others in that generation can't seem the shake the stink Teddy Hart has put on the third generation.
