Institutional memory is an undervalued trait in employees by businesses that only look at a bottom line for decision making.

2023-01-17 18:37:55 +0000 UTCI really hope it’s just a retirement or one of those “I just want to spend more time with my family” also hope it’s nothing health related or a sick family member. Otherwise the timing of this seems really odd.

2023-01-17 17:20:48 +0000 UTCWhen you’ve been with a company that long, and you’re that ingrained in their day to day business, and they can no longer count on you, yes, it is dramatic. I worked in retail, one of my coworkers was this older woman, probably mid-high 50s, was at the store for almost 28 years, she left to go to a different location that needed help, and we were genuinely lost without her even though we knew how to do everything. It forces other people to have to do other things they might not be as educated in, and it slows things down and stresses people out.

2023-01-17 17:17:42 +0000 UTCHe was around for a LOT, and considering his roles, probably knows a lot. In PR, what you don't say is often as important as what you do say.

2023-01-17 17:15:07 +0000 UTCCool now another piece of news to fuel the dooming "sky is falling" circlejerk. I literally cannot stand internet discourse surrounding people leaving companies. No one can ever just leave a company, there always needs to be some dramatic reason
