Maze Runners

I drew this one for myself while finished a character sheet for someone (which should be dropping tomorrow with the cache from Feb). Occasionally I need some art that doesn't get posted on HF to show to my friends and family. They all know I work on the computer and a big part of it is drawing, but obviously I can't show them most of the stuff I make. Small things like this just for show. A bit about the characters, for those that don't play Magic. First one is Varolz, a Golgari Troll. He's a pretty badass card and character. He slaughters your other creature to regenerate himself, making him hard to kill, and then he can eat the corpses of the dead to make himself and other creatures stronger. He's one of my favorite cards. Next is Emmara Tandris, an Elf from a religious commune called the Selesnya Conclave. Great character, terrible, terrible, terrible card. Her original design was really cool. She was supposed to create powerful creatures every time an opponent played a spell on your turn, thus punishing other players for trying to control you. At the last minute they changed the design though, and they made her an mana-expensive, uselessly big, unproductive shell that eliminates damage to creatures you'd otherwise be happy to use as fodder. Biggest fuck up in Magic in recent memory, in my opinion. Next is Lavinia of the Tenth. She's a strict, tight-ass cop who doesn't take shit from anybody, and her card reflects that. When she comes in she basically shuts down all the other cards that are less powerful than her. Great early and mid-game play, but she doesn't do much to help against more powerful creatures. Next is Tajic, a hero of the Boros Legion. He's indestructible, and when he attacks with other creatures he gets really big. I don't really know much else about him. Last is Vorel, a wizard of the Simic Combine, a group that mixes magic with biological sciences to create whacky, crazy, cool creatures, and Vorel is great and making those creatures super powerful. I guess he was originally a human, but the Simic evolved him into being a human/merfolk hybrid, which is something that I'd TOTALLY go for if it was offered.
