Anton, you're the reason I decided to pull my savings out and put it into crypto and investing accounts. Appreciate you!

Unless you qualify for early distribution exemptions (age or other circumstances), there'd be a penalty for withdrawing from most (if not all) retirement accounts. Therefore, their liquidity comes at a higher cost relative to individual brokerage accounts. So in most cases, stock investments you want to remain liquid would be best placed in an individual brokerage account over a retirement account. See here for early withdrawal retirement account exemptions: https://www.irs.gov/retirement-plans/plan-participant-employee/retirement-topics-tax-on-early-distributions

Really insightful. I stopped holding cash back in 2016 when I moved everything into crypto aside from what I needed to pay living expenses.

If you need your money to be liquid, does that mean you are investing it into an individual brokerage or retirement accounts like a traditional IRA or Roth IRA?

I would try to diversify and include indexes that track the SP 500 and total market like FNILX and FZROX.

I get that FDVV is an ETF, so by it's nature it's somewhat 'diversified,' but the idea of having it ALL in only one fund would make me uneasy. What's your thought @Anton Daniels?

Thanks Anton! Just sharing my tactic. I do ALL my finances and investing thru Fidelity. All of my short and long-term funds and Roth IRA are invested in fund, FDVV. I'm getting an average return of 7-8% to date. I have a brokerage/checking account I use to pay my bills that I keep a buffer of $1k in, in case I need cash. If an emergency comes up, I cover it with my Fidelity Visa, and if needed, I will sell a portion of my FDVV from short-term emergency fund to cover the expense. But this has not happened yet, thankfully. Over the next few months, I budget in to build that emergency fund back up. Also, I get 2% cash back on all my purchases with the Fidelity Visa.

Great information about inflation. It's really a shame that more people do not understand this concept. Thanks for the knowledge, will be sharing the patreon with others so they can learn too!
