If you haven't gotten to that one and are curious about it, you can pick it up until the end of the month. (It is a sword and sorcery story about a cranky middle-aged griffiness in the army, and how she came to not rule a province.) This book was originally serialized for pay on Livejournal, and then picked up by small press Sofawolf, and I remain fond of it, particularly because I think it's one of the few times I've pulled off a truly surprising ending.

Just FYI, something seems to be weird in the kindle file they have for you. For instance, at location 720 where the font size causes scouting to be hyphenated at the end of the screen: “I’ll want you to continue your scou-“, the next page starts with “Yes, ma’am!” and not the rest of the sentence. If you adjust the font size so the word does not break, all the text is there. This happens a LOT near the end of the book, always where a word hyphenates at the end of a page. I read a LOT of Kindle books and haven’t ever seen this (the sequel and three other books from that collection were all fine).
