JDM Sr. B-day: So a preview

As it's my birthday, I thought I would drop in here with some funzies.

Yes, the story is about to expand in scope quite a bit.

Yes, Hollis was attacked by a Changeling.

No, he's not dead, and while I wanted to reach out and give you an early chapter because of the cliffhanger, I'm still waiting on feedback from my betareaders.

It's true, I've hit 40, which is a far longer road in life than I ever expected I'd travel. I figured after my time in Afghanistan, I'd be dead by 38. So many problems. But I persevere.

A LOT of answers are about to hit next chapter, things I've held back for a lot of the book, that will affect the entirety of the series immediately after. 90% of them were planned from the beginning, with 10% things popping up as I write.

You'll learn about what's on the fourth floor of the Foundry soonish. I'm planning on knocking out most of my Chekov's guns here pretty soon.

To answer a private question publicly, Bella doesn't really like Adya. It's not a weird bestiality thing, more a younger sister not appreciating someone horning in on her territory (being Cass).

And that's it. I think I did something like this last year as well. I figure answering a few questions, giving some previews, and throwing a few wrenches into where the story goes is fun. Though I do have to warn you, the relaxing, solve the cities problems storyline is about to undergo a dramatic shift as we reach the climax of the book. That's perfectly normal, and I get to see everyone's reactions as many truths come to light. I'm deep into my planning on book 2, with the book's catalyst being the only nebulous figure, and I have up to book 4 loosely planned, with the end of book 6 (the final one) already planned.
