HIP Share: Vellum Break Threshold by Attribute

Hi All,

I made this hip file to awnser a quesiton from José about my sticky grain tutorial :  How do I use a noise in the breakthreshold?

Here is an example of how to drive the break threshold of the attach to geometry constraint with an attribute on the geometry the points attach to.

Enjoy

Haven't has a chance to look at this yet but do you have a sample scene you could share? Are you messing with inertia to try and keep the hair strands stiff?

Hi José, well if it works its correct :) . Had a look at the file and your way is completely valid as well. Nice goo you have there!

Good Morning It turned out I did it differently, I do not know if I did it correctly. I share the link below https://www.dropbox.com/s/0lyu4hgjh11b3zb/grain_constraint.hipnc?dl=0

cool. yeah im setting the inertia attribute to 0 on the points that are attatched. so the hair would be nicely constrained. but as they detatch they fall very strangely, im guessing cause the inertia attribute is not letting them rotate around. i noticed the attach to geometry constrain gives an array of points its using. so i gathered all of them in a detail attribute array, transfered that to the geo and then querryd if the point is not in that array, set the attribute back to one. it kind of works but feels hacky :)
