July News and Announcements

Hey everyone! I hope your summers have been off to a good start. I wanted to open this month with a few announcements regarding what you can expect to see from me in July.

For starters, I had an influx of new patrons towards the end of June, and I thank you immensely for your support - and hope to have it going forward! Attempting to juggle a comic, pin-ups and commissions each month is no small feat, and your support really does make it just a bit easier for me to keep bringing you Kayla content without having to devote all my time to commissions. Get used to my harping my appreciation for you each month!

On the subject of juggling Kayla and commissions, I’ve added a new goal for monthly support. At my current level of support, I’m typically able to produce only one new Kayla Komix page and one patron-voted pin-up each month, alongside any sketch rewards and commissions outside of Patreon. For someone sitting on a literal list of ideas and plot lines for Kayla and his friends, one of my constant frustrations is being limited to this output while maintaining the level of quality I expect of myself. Thus, I’ve added a goal of $300, which would help free up enough of my time so I can begin making two new comic pages each month, along with the pin-up. For now I’m indeed still immensely grateful for the support I already receive, yet hope I’m able to bring you so much more than I’m currently able to in the future.

As far as my July itinerary is concerned, I’ll be continuing the newest “arc” I began with the last Kayla Komix strip, and afterwards shall work on July’s patron-voted pin-up. After counting the votes for the “fat Kayla” poll I ran last month, the stripping theme won by a narrow margin - so I’ll be drawing Kayla throwing around his extra weight onstage at some point soon! I’m also pleased to report that last month’s poll had the most votes I’ve ever received in any one month, so I certainly appreciate everyone’s enthusiasm for the theme!

I also wanted to address the subject of the Monthly Mailbag, which admittedly I dropped the ball for last month owing to a lack of asks. I intend to bring it back this month, especially now that my monthly support has returned to the threshold for illustrated responses. Once I make an official post about it this month, I invite all patrons to submit asks for Kayla and friends again, some of which may be chosen to receive drawn responses at some point down the line!
