August Update

Hey All!

Sorry for the late update, but good news is, I'll begin posting snippets again! First post is scheduled for August 2. I'm going to go back to my original posting schedule of Tues, Thurs, Sat, Sun. Posts will go live at 8am PST.

August will be a mishmash of what I've been working on--those bonus scenes from Roth's POV from previous books and bits and pieces of book 4. Some posts will be a couple hundred words, others will just be a couple of lines. I'll try to include passages when I can, but since I'm in the messy beginning stages, a lot of scenes are just fragments and not fully put together yet. I'm sharing snippets rather than posting the raw draft just yet.

I mentioned this on Discord, but I started book 4 from scratch 😳 The snippets of book 4 that I shared on Ream and Patreon were written before I'd finalized Bitter Confessions, which means a lot is no longer relevant or needs to be significantly altered. It was easier for me to start over and just take what I wanted from the original draft, so that's what I did.

Most of my time has been spent in Roth's POV. In the beginning of book 4, Jasmine is in a somewhat dissociative state so I've had to switch to his POV to figure out what he's thinking and feeling since I already know Jasmine's side so well. This is also why I decided to write those bonus scenes from his POV, since I'm already in his mindset. Unfortunately, aside from the bonus scenes, most of what I've written won't be shown until we get into Roth's book 😬

This book is going in a very different direction than I originally intended, but I'm excited about it! Every book, Roth and Jasmine's dynamic shifts and this one has the most drastic change. That makes me feel a little off kilter since we're in unfamiliar territory, but I'm just trusting the process and moving forward step by step. There's a lot of experimenting, fitting pieces together, pondering, discarding, reframing...

On a personal note, I'm moving into my own place, which is why I've been more MIA than normal and this post is super late 🤣 Once I'm moved in and my office is set up, I'll be more active! I am sooooo excited! I've been living the nomad life for like 5 years now and I'm finally going to settle somewhere and bang these books out. Hooray!

As always, thank you for your patience! I hope you like the upcoming snippets and bonus scenes. I'm not 100% on the bonus scenes yet. I may still want to add or take out some things. I'm extremely distracted at the moment, but I'm trying to get back into the habit of posting, even though it's not perfect/final, so bear with me.
