I wrote a 2024 Recap of my year, professionally and personally. I want to thank you all for encouraging me throughout the year and bearing with me as I follow my muse and write the prequel for Corrupt Idol!

While on this break from writing, I’ve watched His Dark Materials and am about to get into The Wheel of Time. Both of these were favorite book series of mine when I was a kid. In between episodes, I find myself jotting down notes for book 4 of the Singed Series. I thought I would be preoccupied with the prequel, but my mind is already moving onto the next project.

I’ve decided to change a key scene in the first chapter of book 4, which will make a huge impact on the story and speed up the timeline, which I’m excited about. I have no idea how much I’ll keep of the original draft I wrote. This is disheartening since I was 66k words deep. I doubt I’ll keep even half of it, but that’s just the way it goes. You have to be willing to scrap things if a better idea comes along.

I officially announced the prequel on Dinah Harper’s blog and will be sending out a newsletter on 12/27 just to spread the word. I won’t be setting a pre-order until I have a title. It would be nice to have a cover, too. LOL. Both of those things are percolating in my mind along with dozens of other things. I’ve kind of latched onto the title, Corrupt Genesis instead of Corrupt Beginnings, but I’m still uncommitted. I don’t think I’ll know until I do a re-read.
