First Kiss, PT 3

Continuation of flashback leading up to first time... 

“Let me taste you,” he whispered against her ear. 

When she sagged against the counter, he pressed in and her mind short-circuited. The feel of his muscled body pressed against hers made her mouth water. The urge to touch and taste made her hands fist at her sides. He smelled of soap and man. Again, no expensive designer cologne like what Ford and the rest of her classmates wore. Roth was himself. He didn’t need a suit or cologne or a fancy car to make him desirable. She wanted him just as she was. So much that she couldn’t think straight. 

He ran his hand over her hair and brushed the strands between his fingers. “It’s as soft as it looks.”

The wonder and appreciation in his tone made her raise her head. His eyes, that fathomless black that captured her from the start, was filled with tenderness and hunger, a devastating combination that made her grasp handfuls of his khaki colored sports jacket. She should say something. Put an end to it before… 

He clasped her face between calloused palms and stared straight into her eyes. 

“One taste,” he said as he slowly lowered his mouth again. “I need to know if you taste as sweet as I’ve imagined.” 

Her lungs seized. She opened her mouth to take a breath and found her lips captured by his. She gasped as he slanted his head and deepened the kiss.

Her insides simultaneously melted and went into mad revolt. Her mind took a hike as she lost herself in the dark taste of her coffee on his tongue, along with the cinnamon and honey Baklava dessert he consumed. She wasn’t aware that her hands sank into his hair and pulled in her quest to get more of the best thing she had ever tasted. He let out a low groan that made her insides spasm. Hearing that sound coming from James Roth made the space between her legs pulse.
